NG-Bioan 50L is a mixture of nitrifying bacteria that removes ammonia from wastewater. It is widely used in various industries that utilize aerobic treatment to generate, maintain, or restore nitrification.
Advantages
NG-Bioan 50L is an efficient and reliable solution for nitrification, acting as a rapid ammonia nitrogen biodegradation agent. The use of NG-Bioan 50L for biological enhancement treatments strengthens the nitrification process, enabling industrial wastewater treatment plants to withstand higher loads of toxic wastewater and wastewater streams containing high concentrations of ammonia or other nitrogen compounds. NG-Bioan 50L reduces recovery time after process disruptions and minimizes the impact of sudden loadings on effluent quality, thus aiding in compliance with environmental regulations.
NG-Bioan 50L promotes continuous and reliable treatment while reducing the need for operational changes related to nitrification processes. It exhibits broad activity and facilitates simple operation even at low temperatures.
Performance
Nitrification is a two-step aerobic process. In the first step, beneficial microorganisms oxidize ammonium (NH4+) to nitrite (NO2-), and in the second step, nitrite is further oxidized to nitrate (NO3-).
This describes the application of NG-Bioan 50L in a wastewater treatment process in China.
Figure 1: Ammonia dropped from 850mg/L to 60mg/L in 10hours, and further to 4mg/L after 26hours.
Temperature
Nitrification readily occurs within a temperature range of 15-30°C. Nitrification is inhibited and often fails when the temperature drops below 15°C.
NG-Bioan 50L remains active at temperatures of 4-10°C, preventing the loss of nitrification in the system.
Recommendations for Use
Directly add "NG-Bioan 50L" to the influent of the aeration tank or wastewater treatment pool in the activated sludge system. This product has been successfully used in activated sludge treatment plants and wastewater treatment pools in oil refineries, food processing companies, coal chemical industry, municipal systems, paper mills, landfills, steel plants, and chemical plants. The dosage rate depends on wastewater flow rate, hydraulic retention time, sludge age, and wastewater ammonia concentration. During the initial seeding period, increase the dosage to quickly establish microorganisms in the system, then continue to decrease the daily dosage over a week or longer. Monitor the effluent to confirm the presence of ammonia, nitrate, nitrite, dissolved oxygen, and pH (as a minimum). Other recommended monitoring parameters include Total Kjeldahl Nitrogen (TKN), alkalinity, and effluent Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD).
